ROUND 5 OSET CUP NORTH at GHYLL FARM BURNESIDE
COURTESY OF THE BATTY FAMILY AND SEDBURGH CLUB
Thirty riders turned up for our latest event and the weather was kind to us once again. Carl Batty set out a challenging course of six sections which were ridden four times by all classes. The sections were a mixture of banking's, streams and good old Lakes rocks. We did not have any Elite riders at this round so three routes was enough to cover everybody.
White for the beginners.
Yellow for yearlings.
Red for hardened competitors.
Considering the dry conditions the grass was really slippy as were the rocks. Gentle throttle was required to gain success and young Jamie Waddington proved to be an expert in control. The 12.5's were great fun as always and all the young ones had a good crack at the sections, chasing Mum's and Dad's to follow the line. A few of the parents were certainly lighter come the end of the day !!!!
It was a long day and two sets of trophies had to be handed out at the end.
One set for the YOUTH SUPERSTARS at Rock'N'Hop and one set for the day. Plenty of kids left with more than one place board and medal. It was like the Olympics.
Next Round is at the Rock Store near Scunthorpe on 24th September. SEE YOU ALL THERE !!!!
