OSET CUP NORTH ROUND 1 at DOB PARK
Well what a start to the season !!! 33 riders entered in total but we had 2 missing on the day so 31 took part. Bradley and Joseph I hope you get better soon. We will hopefully see you at the next round at Harwood Dale.
We had riders down from Scotland, the North East, Lancashire and Yorkshire. Classes were E Class through to C Class with the majority being in the D Class. Out of 33 entries 11 were newbies to OSET CUP NORTH. Everybody is listed in the results. Six sections were marked out on the grassy banks and rocks with 3 routes to cater for everybody. Looking at the scores across all classes we got the level spot on (Thanks Carl Batty). They were all a challenge and there was some fantastic riding. I personally was amazed by the following riders who are all potential BRITISH CHAMPIONSHIP standard. So a shout out to Lennox Crawford, Eddie Charlton, Joseph Larkin, Matthew Kendal, James Clegg and last but not least Joshua Tate who only dropped 4 all day. Get entered for the Championship all of you because you have the skills !!!!
The boys need to watch out for the girls because they are gooooood !! Keep it up Chloe Grace Charlton, Amelia Batty and the now famous Lilly May Shuttleworth who even had her own personal minder on hand (Cameron Batty).
Smiling faces were out in abundance especially from Henry Hardman and young Jorge Ward, or do we call him "Horge" with a Spanish accent !!!!!
I promise I will learn to get your names right next time Ruari Graham and Alisdair Pollock.
We try to keep the family atmosphere at all our events and I was very pleased to get a phone call from Alisdair, one of our Scottish contingent, who made a point of mentioning how welcome they were made to feel. It makes it all worthwhile when you see smiling faces and friendships being forged. To be honest I get a kick out of it. Last year we had our first World Champion who started his career on OSET BIKES (Jack Dance) and there are numerous riders now achieving success from a good OSET CUP NORTH grounding. Do we have another group coming through now to give our previous OSET CUP Champions a run for their money? Watch this space !!!!!!
Finally, a big shout out to Mike Hinch and Andrew Carter for the use of the land. We will be back there again for the last round later in the year. Also a big thank you to Barry Robinson for the photographs and publicity and to Derek Wylde at Trials Express.
